October 2014: Chairman of Mileage Communications Group Awarded Established Entrepreneur of the Year

Mr Yap Boh Tiong, Chairman of the Mileage Communications Group, was recently announced as one of 13 winners in the Established Entrepreneur category of the Entrepreneur of the Year Award (EYA) 2014.

The Entrepreneur of the Year Award is jointly organised by the Rotary Club of Singapore and the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (ASME). EYA is now into its 26th year of honouring local entrepreneurs in Singapore who have shown outstanding performance as business owners.

“The diversity of industries that our Winners come from not only reflects Singapore’s vibrant business landscape but also indicates that the entrepreneurial spirit is very much alive in Singapore. In today’s competitive business environment, cultivating different entrepreneurs is crucial as they bring in improved ideas, new innovations and perspectives that are essential to growth. We are extremely proud to have recognised these outstanding and diverse entrepreneurs this year,” said Mr Thomas Fernandez, Award Co-Chairman of EYA 2014, from ASME.

The judging process was stringent, involving detailed submission proposals which were examined meticulously, coupled with several rounds of nerve-wracking interviews and site visits - all of which are objectively assessed and evaluated by the Award Organising Committee.

The Final Judging will take place in October, during which the Overall Winner of each respective category will be selected by the Award Judging Panel, comprising distinguished businessmen, academics, senior civil servants and other invitees of high repute. Results for the Final Judging round will be announced in November during the Award Presentation Ceremony.

Singapore’s largest homegrown public relations agency, Mileage Communications today extended its footprint into South Korea by opening its newest branch in Seoul. Known as Mileage Communications (Korea), the joint venture is formed with local established PR veteran, John Kim, and his team.

Mr Yap Boh Tiong, Chairman of the Mileage Group said: “Korea is Asia’s fourth largest economy and the business outlook is positive. We have clients pushing for work to be carried out in the Korean market and having an office in Seoul will be a boon for our clients.”

- First Singapore PR Agency to open an office in Myanmar

20 June 2013, Singapore – Singapore’s largest homegrown public relations agency, Mileage Communications, today extends its footprint into Myanmar by forming a joint venture in Yangon, Myanmar’s largest city and centre of commerce.

Known as Mileage Communications MCG Co., Ltd., the joint venture is formed with MCG, a specialised marketing communications agency servicing the entire Myanmar territory. MCG is currently servicing the accounts of top South Korean companies such as LG Electronics.

Into its 17th edition, Cards & Payments Asia 2012* is the longest-standing smart cards & payments trade event. It will be held at Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre from 25th – 27th April 2012. January 25, 2011: Mileage IPRO Communications Appointed to Publicise The Backstreet Boys World Tour in Vietnam

SINGAPORE, 25 January 2011 – Mileage IPRO Communications (Vietnam), the latest office opened by Singapore’s largest homegrown public relations agency Mileage Communications, was recently appointed by Water Buffalo Productions to publicise the Vietnam leg of The Backstreet Boys’ “This Is Us” World Tour in March.

The concert in Vietnam will be designed according to the band’s World Tour format, making it Vietnam’s most anticipated music event in 2011. The Backstreet Boys will perform for two nights, at Quan Khu 7 Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City, and My Dinh Stadium in Hanoi, on 24 and 26 March respectively.

At the gala dinner, Mr Lee Yi Shyan, Minister of State for Trade & Industry and Manpower, presented the award to Mr Yap.

The Spirit of Enterprise is in its eighth year and is a private non-profit organisation with a mission to promote and develop the entrepreneurial spirit in Singapore through a variety of efforts honouring local self-reliant entrepreneurs operating small and medium-sized businesses. 18 October 2010, Singapore – Singapore’s largest homegrown public relations agency Mileage Communications today extended its footprint into Vietnam by forming a joint venture in Hanoi.

Known as Mileage IPRO Communications, the joint venture is formed with IPRO Communications, a leading Vietnamese integrated marketing communications agency. The agency is headed by Mdm Nguyen Thi Minh Tam, who has 20 years of experience in public and government affairs. She has also previously worked for more than 10 years in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Vietnam.

Mileage IPRO Communications is located along Phan Dinh Phung Street, in the heart of Hanoi’s well-known Ba Dinh District. The joint venture also has a representative office in Ho Chi Minh City.

With the joint venture, the Mileage Communications Group now operates in 11 offices across seven countries. The Group is headquartered in Singapore and also operates in China (Shanghai), India (New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Chennai), Indonesia (Jakarta), Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur) and Thailand (Bangkok).

Mileage Communications Extends Footprint into China with New Branch in Shanghai – Group now operates from nine offices across six countries

SINGAPORE, 24th November 2009 – Singapore’s largest homegrown public relations agency Mileage Communications today extended its footprint into mainland China by opening its newest branch in Shanghai.

Known as Mileage Communications (China), the branch is located along West Nanjing Road in the heart of China’s premier business and financial city.
