As a homegrown PR agency, Mileage Communications has its own building in Club Street. Mileage has experience in diverse industry sectors such as consumer / lifestyle; corporate finance / investor relations / IPOs; Infocomm/technology, biotech / healthcare / pharmaceutical; education; shipping and sports. In addition to its own overseas branches, Mileage is a member of MTI Network, which is a global network of PR agencies dedicated to the shipping industry.

Mileage is also a member of Public Relations Global Network (PRGN). This is an international organisation of more than 50 leading independent, owner-operated public relations agencies working together to serve clients’ needs with local knowledge and global reach.

The Mileage Communications Group is led by its Chairman, Yap Boh Tiong, a communications veteran with 45 years of experience in journalism, advertising, public relations, crisis management and media training.

Chairman of Mileage Communications Group

Yap Boh Tiong is the Chairman of the Mileage Communications Group with more than 45 years experience in the mass communication field encompassing journalism, public relations, advertising and marketing.

Before starting Mileage, he worked with a number of leading Singapore companies in senior public relations and marketing positions such as a Journalist at Straits Times, Singapore Press Holdings, Marketing Executive & Public Relations Officer, Singapore Airlines, Vice President & Head of the Public Relations & Advertising Dept, United Overseas Bank and Group Corporate Affairs Manager for the International Marketing, Distribution and Services group, Inchcape Berhad.

In 1992, Boh Tiong founded Mileage and today, the company services blue chips clients in sectors such as Consumer/Lifestyle, Corporate/Finance, Healthcare/Pharmaceutical, Infocomm Technology, Shipping, Issues/Crisis Management and Sports.

Mileage has also a solid track record in Crisis Management. Boh Tiong was personally involved in a number of high profile incidents, including the Raffles Town Club saga, the Johor Bahru shooting incident involving the Managing Director of Diamond Industries, the phenol spill in the Straits of Johor (which poisoned the fish farms), the Slim 10 saga, AIA Critical Year Option, the Nicoll Highway collapse and the bombings of Islamabad Marriott, JW Marriott and Ritz Carlton in Jakarta.

He was the President of the Institute of Public Relations of Singapore (IPRS) from 1985 to 1993. For his outstanding work for the Institute and the industry, he was conferred the title of Fellow by IPRS in 1994. In February 2000, he was named PR Professional of the Year by the Institute, in recognition of his contributions to the PR industry. In 2010, he was one of the honorees of the Spirit of Enterprise Awards. Boh Tiong also received an award as an Established Entrepreneur of the Year 2014 by the Association of Small & Medium Enterprises and Rotary Club of Singapore.

Patsy Phay

Executive Director

At Mileage, Patsy puts her past experience to good use servicing existing clients and helping Mileage to establish a stronger presence in the financial sector. To this end, she has helped Singapore as well as Hong Kong companies on their IPO road shows successfully. Some of the notable IPO launches she managed were – streetTRACKS Gold Shares (Gold ETF), AEM-Evertech Holdings Ltd, Fragrance Group Ltd, Figtree Holdings Ltd, Heatec-Jietong Holdings Ltd, Kori Holdings Ltd as well as Santak Holdings Ltd. Patsy has also developed investor relations programmes for public listed companies.

In addition, Patsy handled the communications programme for State Street Global Advisors (one of the world’s largest institutional asset managers from 2002 to 2011), Alliance Capital Management (Singapore) Ltd, Rabobank International and Marriott Hotels, Resorts and Suites for South East Asia.

For Sports, Patsy was the Account Manager for the launch of Sports Excellence for the Singapore Sports Council, Sporting Singapore Inspiration Awards, Team Singapore, National Registry of Coaches for the Singapore Sports Council, Annual Coach Recognition Awards as well as the SAFRA Singapore Bay Run & Army Half Marathon (2010 and 2011).

In the property sector, Patsy handled successfully the launches of Summerlea Green, Countryside 3 and Le Shantier by OCBC Properties Private Ltd and the Pacific Plaza Towers in the Philippines by First Pacific Davies (Singapore) Pte Ltd.

Given her broad experience in the corporate and financial sectors, Patsy has also developed a keen interest in the Technology sector. She developed the communications programmes for IT clients like Motorola Electronics Pte Ltd, NCR Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, 3Com South Asia Pte Ltd, Samsung Asia Pte Ltd and Fujitsu Asia Pte Ltd.

For the Healthcare/Pharmaceutical sector, Patsy has developed successfully PR programmes for Bausch & Lomb (S) Pte Ltd, Baxter Healthcare (Asia) Pte Ltd, Organon (M) Sdn Bhd, Novartis (Singapore) Pte Ltd, Pfizer, Rockeby biomed Ltd, Singapore Heart, Stroke & Cancer Centre and The Himalaya Drug Company Pte Ltd.

Wy-Lene Yap the founder and managing editor of High Net Worth, an online publication that seeks to redefine ‘worth’ by focusing on the lives of people through raw and poignant storytelling. These diverse and in-depth profiles range from CEOs to entrepreneurs and trendsetters who are not only successful but also conscious about creating change and making an impact on the world.

On the side, Wy-Lene has built a community that brings together influential women of all ages and personalities, from a multitude of industries, to form deep and meaningful connections with one another. With over 100 women in Women of Worth, the platform actively supports businesses and causes within the broader community, cultivates a sense of belonging and ultimately facilitates growth, partnerships and collaborations.

Wy-Lene also actively consults for brands and individuals, from branding, design, PR, social media management and copywriting.

Radhika Chandhok

Head of Influencer Marketing

As a dynamic and results-driven professional in her role as Head of Influencer Marketing, Radhika brings a unique blend of strategic communications expertise and hands-on social media marketing skills to the table. Prior to joining Mileage, Radhika graduated from Singapore Management University with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science (Psychology) and a second major in Marketing, which laid a solid foundation in both human behaviour and strategic marketing. Her studies in psychology provided a deep understanding of consumer psychology, while her focus on marketing enabled her to gain expertise in brand strategy, consumer engagement, and digital marketing. This combination of skills has empowered Radhika to effectively bridge the gap between understanding audience needs and executing data-driven marketing campaigns.

Over the past several years, Radhika has built a personal brand with over 110,000 followers on Instagram, collaborating with a diverse range of clients and brands to amplify their online presence and drive engagement. She has developed and executed marketing campaigns across multiple platforms, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the full spectrum of digital media. From crafting compelling narratives to managing influencer partnerships, Radhika curates content that resonates with audiences and drives measurable results. Her work in the industry has also allowed her to cultivate strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and develop a keen understanding of brand messaging and how to tailor it for diverse audiences.

Additionally, Radhika has gained valuable experience through a range of internships. As a Regional Marketing Intern at Hillrom, she supported APAC marketing initiatives and contributed to executing regional campaigns aimed at driving brand awareness. Furthermore, as an Editorial Intern at Indochine Media Ventures, Radhika played a key role in content creation and editorial planning, honing her writing and storytelling skills while assisting with content strategy. These experiences have provided her with a well-rounded skill set in both marketing and content development, equipping her to adapt to various industry demands and deliver impactful results.
